Ithar Saad, the youngest member of this family, told Misri Al-Youm, “We are 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls, and all of us memorized the Quran in elementary school.”
He added, “When I was in the third or fourth grade, I memorized the entire Quran, and that’s not unusual in our house.”
Ithar continued, “This was not a coincidence or due to individual effort; rather, it was a planned goal by my father, carried out with paternal foresight and the dedication of a mentor.”
He noted that his mother encouraged them to memorize, and his father would accompany them.
“The whole house was full of Qurans. There was no child who finished the third grade of elementary school without memorizing the Quran.”
This family has not neglected academic education, and the children have been able to continue memorizing the Quran alongside their studies.
“We all studied at the Al-Azhar Qara’at Center, which is a comprehensive educational center. Education at this center begins with the recitation of the Quran, and then we move on to higher levels and then specialization,” he said.
“In this center, we learn everything about the Quran, from its grammar to rhetoric and ten styles of recitations, in an academic way.”
Stating that his brothers have also been active in religious centers in addition to memorization, he said, “My brothers are one year apart in age and have participated in competitions and won first place. They have excelled not only in memorization, but also in recitation and Tajweed.”

Ithar continued, They became professors and teachers of the Quran and recitations at the age of 15 and 16, because they had graduated from the Qara’at center and had reached a stage where Al-Azhar itself designated them for teaching.”
While these successes can be a source of fame, the father is careful to keep his sons out of the spotlight, said Ithar. “He doesn’t like fame or too much talk, so that we can succeed without becoming arrogant.”
What’s remarkable about this family is that the story doesn’t end with memorizing the Quran, but rather each of the brothers and sisters has a path related to the Quran.
“My older brother is a Quran recitation teacher at Al-Azhar’s Qara’at Center. He used to participate in competitions and represent the center. My next brother did the same thing and at the same time taught the Quran in our city.”
The third brother is also responsible for Quran memorization schools and memorization centers in South Sinai, and has managed activities related to Quran memorization, Quran recitation institutions and schools affiliated with Al-Azhar in Al-Tur, and has taught at the Quran Recitation Institute in this city.
